Service Alberta is responsible for providing numerous motor vehicle and related services through the registry agent network. Motor vehicles services include driver and vehicle licensing, motor vehicle searches, driver’s abstracts, payment of fines, and personalized licence plate applications and many more. The ministry also oversees Alberta’s expansive Motor Vehicle Database. Service Alberta administers motor vehicle programs jointly with Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation.

Reality Choices is from Service Alberta and is a consumer resource for young adults who are moving away from home for the first time. It consists of five modules: Dealing with Credit, You and Your Money, A Roof over Your Head, In the Driver's Seat, Shopping for Satisfaction. The modules are based on a national version of Reality Choices released earlier this year by federal, provincial and territorial consumer affairs ministers, but have been adapted to give Albertans key information about consumer protection laws in Alberta.
Registry transactions include the issuing and renewing of drivers’ licences, registrations of birth, marriage and death, land title searches and transfers, and registrations of corporations, vehicles, and liens. The majority of these services are delivered on behalf of the Government of Alberta by registry agents located in communities throughout the province. Many related forms can be downloaded and some services are now available online.
