The Rural Family Law Prjoject of the Edmonton Community Legal Centre offers free legal information, advice and representation for low income Albertans residing in Northern areas of the province that do not have access to a local community legal clinic. The Rural Family Law Project has volunteer lawyers that can offer you up to 45 minutes of free legal advice. If you are low income and meet our financial eligibility guidelines, ECLC will do their best to assist you with your family law issue.
Our organization and most of our volunteers are located in Edmonton, so appointments will, in most cases, be over the phone with an Edmonton lawyer.
ECLC offers services to individuals and families in the following areas:
- Parenting Orders
- Child and Spousal Support
- Common-Law Relationships
- Custody and Access Orders
- Queen’s Bench Protection Order Hearings
- Response to uncomplicated Divorce
- Division of Property
***ECLC does not assist with Child Welfare matters***
